AIPMT 2014 Seats and Reservation – AIPMT 2014 entrance exam was conducted on May 4, 2014 at different centres across the country for admission to 15% all India quota seats in Government Medical colleges across India, excluding Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.  The AIPMT 2014 Seats will be allotted through AIPMT 2014 Counselling which will be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) on behalf of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Medical Seats to be filled through AIPMT 2014 Result:

According to latest notification from Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) there are 2156 MBBs seats and 249 BDS seats which will be filled under 15% All India Quota Seats through AIPMT 2014 in first and second round of counselling. Last year in NEET 2013 first round of counselling was done for 2497 MBBS seats and 263 BDS seats. 

The merit list of the eligible and successful candidates who have opted for 15% All India quota seats will be prepared by the CBSE on the basis of score obtained in the AIPMT 2014 Result. The merit list will be equal to the number of seats available for allotment in MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota. There shall also be a waiting list equal to 4 times of the merit list. The list of successful candidates (Merit List/ Waiting List) shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Indiafor the purpose of allotment of seats through AIPMT 2014 Online Counselling.

According to the AIPMT 2014 prospectus, 15% All India Quota in various Medical colleges of India excluding Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Jammu & Kashmir will be allotted as per the reservation criteria from Government of India. AIPMT 2014 Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges Under 15% All India Quota:

• 47.5% Seats for General
• 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
• 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
• 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC Candidates from creamy layer and do not come under Central List of OBC and they will treated as Genral Category
• 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates (only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%, provided that in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before they are included in the seats of respective category) in 15% All India UG quota seat
