COUNSELLING PROCEDURE

A) Come prepared for counselling

Ø  Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility requirements given in Manipal University Prospectus 2015.

Ø  Documents Check Lists
  • e-Hall Ticket
  • 10th standard marks card for proof of date of birth
  • Marks card of 10+2
  • Conduct and Character certificate obtained on the School/College letter head/pad. No other certificate in lieu of this will be accepted
  • Transfer certificate or School/College Leaving Certificate issued by the School/College. No other certificate in lieu of this will be accepted
  •  Four recent and identical passport size photographs
  • Two set of photocopies of all the above documents
  • Fees.

IMPORTANT NOTE:All the candidates are required to produce the above original documents for verification.  In the event of admission, University will retain these documents till the completion of the course.

B) On day of counselling  
  • The physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. If a candidate is prevented by unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the counselling, he/she may authorise another individual to represent him/her at the counselling.  This representative must carry the letter of authorization. CLICK HERE for the authorization letter format.

  • Only the candidate/representative will be allowed into the counselling hall. 

  • Candidate should sign the attendance register to mark their presence and fill the registration form available at the registration counter. 

  • Candidates will be called as per their MU-OET 2015 rank for biometrics and document verification.  Successful candidates will be allotted seats according to their rank and number of seats available.  Such candidates should submit their original documents and pay the first year fees at the counselling.  Manipal University will not entertain any requests for extension in this regard.
 
  •  Absence of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat.

  • The choice of course/campus made by the candidate/representative is final and binding and cannot be altered later under any circumstances.

C) After Admission

  • Admission order and receipt/s for the payment made will be given to the candidate on completion of the admission process.

  • Selected candidates should fill the State Bank of India account opening form for combo ID card.  The filled-in SBI account opening form should be submitted at the SBI counter. The combo card will function as university photo identity card, access control card, ATM and debit card.  The combo card will not be issued if the account opening form is not submitted at the SBI counter. Further, you are required to submit photocopy of any one of the address proof document (VoterID/Aadhar Card/Passport/Driving License) in order to open an account.

  • Candidates who require hostel facility should report to chief warden of the allotted campus for hostel enrollment. Hostel will be allotted on payment of hostel fees only.

  • Candidates should report to the allotted college on or before the reporting date mentioned in the admission order.
 
  • Classes will commence from September 01, 2015.

          The first year course fees and registration fees should be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of ‘Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Part payments or payment in installments is not permitted. Nonpayment of the first year fees on the day of counselling will result in instantaneous forfeiture of seat.  

WAITLIST

When all the seats in the given course are filled, candidates may choose to be waitlisted.

      Applicants are warned against possible cheating by unscrupulous agencies that may put out misleading advertisements in newspapers or approach by other means, promising and assuring seats for various courses for monetary considerations or by extracting large sum of money from candidates / parents. Manipal University wishes to authoritatively refute all such misleading false claims and advertisements. Admissions can be secured only by merit in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test 2015.
        
We have no agents or middlemen for admissions. There is no management quota, reserved seats or payment seats of any kind.

The number of candidates included in the merit list and also those called for the counselling will be more than the total number of seats available in the constituent colleges. This is to take care of any dropouts at the counselling stage. Mere inclusion in the merit list and call for counselling does not guarantee admission to a course. This will exclusively depend on the candidates all India rank, the number of candidates attending the counselling, their choice of course/institution and the number of seats available.

All admissions are subject to fulfillment of all the eligibility conditions by the candidate. If it is found at a later stage, during active verification, that the candidate has given false information/certificate or is found to have concealed some information his/her admission will be cancelled without any notice. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility requirements for the course/s applied. Jurisdiction for dispute if any shall be a

AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIP

The award of scholarship amount will be based on the parent’s annual income (from all souses), as mentioned below:

*Candidate needs to pay a nominal amount of 5% of course fee or 5% of total family income as yearly instalment, whichever is minimum.
     
In addition to the above mentioned scholarship, students are also eligible for “Interest Subsidy on Education Loan Scholarship”. 

INTEREST SUBSIDY ON EDUCATION LOAN SCHOLARSHIP

ü  A student can avail the benefit of scholarship under the Scheme during the term of his/her study.
ü  Loan shall be availed from a nationalized/scheduled bank for payment of course fee prescribed for the course.
ü  The eligible loan for interest subsidy shall be the amount equivalent to the accumulated tuition fee paid by the student to the University for the respective academic years.
ü  The amount shall be reduced by the subsidies if any provided by the University in the form of fee concessions.
ü  Eligible student should produce attested photocopy of the Income Tax (IT) return form for proof of parents’ income. Non working parent should produce a notarized affidavit that they are not employed.
ü  The interest subsidy to be reimbursed by the University shall be determined as mentioned below:

CONTINUATION OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE SUBSEQUENT YEARS:
1.     Scholarship for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES), for those students who have joined various courses of MU under Sages categoryis subject to clearance of all subjects in the previous year.
2.     The percentage of scholarship remains same throughout the course irrespective of their change in the income group.
3.     The benefits under the scheme will not be extended to a student in instances of irregularity in attendance, poor academic performance, proven changes of indiscipline and failure in the examination.
