About GGSIPU-CET
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is established by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi under the University Act 1998. GGSIPU imparts education in wide array of disciplines. The IP University is accredited by NAAC and given ‘A’ grade. The course of studies leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) shall be minimum of 4½ years followed by one year compulsory rotational Internship. The entrance test for this course is conducted in 2-stages, i.e. stage-I & stage-II. Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) in association with Safdarjung Hospital was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001 and the college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

Students from Delhi region or outer state preparing for IP University Common Entrance Test must go through eligibility criteria notification as given below.
1.Nationality- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are not eligible.
2.Age- Candidate should be of 17 (Seventeen) years as on the 31st December, 2014.
3.Qualification- Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the (10+2) Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science (I. Sc.) or an equivalent examination of the recognised University/Board of any Indian State with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY and ENGLISH (Core or Elective or Functional).
4.Qualifying Subjects (Aggregate) - Candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of SC/ST candidates, subject to availability of seat for these categories in the respective institutions).

Admission Procedure
The Admission Brochure-IV will be sale on all working days during normal Banking hours through the branches of Indian Bank.

Sale by Post-
Admission Brochure along with Application Form can also be obtained through registered/speed post. A request in this regard should be sent to the Joint Registrar (Academic), Administrative Block, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector 16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075 along with the following:
  1. An application on plain paper, addressed to the Joint Registrar (Academic) requesting to issue Admission Brochure-IV (MBBS Programme). The application should clearly mention the name and the address of the applicant;
  2. A Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the back side of the Demand Draft/Pay Order;
  3. A self-addressed envelope of size not less than 24cms x 30cms.
Submission of Application Form-
The applicants are advised to retain a photocopy of the duly filled-in Application Form before the same is submitted to the University.
The Application Form complete in all respects in the sealed printed envelope given along with Admission Brochure-IV, should be submitted by hand at the University counter or it may be sent by Registered/Speed Post to the :

In pursuance to the request of Ministry of Health, Govt. of India; Govt. of NCT of Delhi has taken a decision that admission to MBBS / BDS / PG Medical programmes will be taken on the basis of unified test called NEET.

Accordingly, in view of the decision of Govt. of Delhi, GGSIP University would now be carrying out its counseling / admission on the basis of NEET scores. The applicants seeking admission to GGSIP University in VMMC and PGIMER, Dr. RML Hospital are hereby advised to submit their NEET Scores along with their NEET registration number to GGSIP University to enable the University to initiate the process of admissions.

However, admissions to super-specialty programmes, Bachelor of Ayurveda Sciences, Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery will be carried out on the basis of CET conducted by GGSIP University.

About Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital:
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
Safdarjung Hospital is the largest hospital under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is well known for its quality of services to all strata of society since pre-independence era. Vardhman Mahavir Medical College in association with Safdarjung Hospital provides modern facilities in all kinds of investigations and patients care. This hospital has specialty and super specialty departments, like, Neurology, Urology, CTVS, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine, Burns & Plastic, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, etc. It has the facilities for cardiac catheterization, lithotripsy, sleep laboratory, endoscopies, arthroscopies, video EEG, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and dialysis. The Hospital is also equipped with ICU and ICCU facilities. It has more than 1500 authorized beds including bassinets till date. It has annual OPD attendance of more than 90 lakhs patients.

Number of Seats:
During academic session 2011-12 One Hundred Fifty (150) seats were available for admission to the graduate medical course of the College, leading to the award of the degree of MBBS of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, of the total, 118 seats were filled on the basis of the Common Entrance Test [CET : MBBS-2011] conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. 22 seats were filled up through CBSE and remaining 10 seats through Central Pool of Allocation. Out of the 118 seats filled on the basis of CET-2011, 79 seats were earmarked for students from Delhi Region and the remaining 39 seats were filled on All India Region basis.

About Common Entrance Test: CET Code 103 [CET: MBBS – 2012]:
1. All the candidates who are keen to seek admission to MBBS programme at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi for the Academic Session 2012-13 must appear in the Common Entrance Test : CET Code 103 [CET: MBBS-2012], which will be conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector-16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075.
2. There will be two stages of the Common Entrance Test. Only qualified candidates of Stage I will be allowed to appear in Stage II Entrance Test of MBBS. The CET: MBBS-2012 (Stage I) is proposed to be conducted at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Jallandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow & Dehradun. However, depending upon the number of candidates at any station, the final venue of the CET: MBBS – 2012 (Stage I) will be communicated to the candidates through Admit Cards. MBBS (Stage II) test will be held only at Delhi. In case of any query, candidate may contact on 011-25302287.

The venue of the Common Entrance Test (Stage I) Code: 103 along with the Centres Codes have been indicated in the table given below. The candidates are advised to indicate in the Application Form their two preferred choices in respect to the places in order of his/her preference. The choices indicated by the candidates shall however, be considered as their 'preferred choices'. The actual centre code will be allotted by the University and the same shall be considered as final. Neither any change in the preferences already indicated by the candidate shall be allowed by the University nor will any correspondence in this regard be entertained under any circumstances.

Question paper pattern or scheme on which VMMC-GGSIPU entrance paper will design is as described below

  1. The IPU CET test paper will contain 200 objective-type Multiple Choice Questions in all. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked as (1), (2), (3) and (4). Out of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR answer sheet;
  2. Each question shall carry three (3) marks;
  3. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. One (1) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Incorrect answers will include both the “wrong answers” as well as “more than one answer to a question”.
  4. The GGSIPU Test will be of three (3) hours duration and will carry 600 marks;
  5. The medium of the tests will be English only;
  6. Candidates should bring a black ball point pen to the Examination Hall for writing/marking responses (darkening the ovals) on OMR answer sheet. Use of pencil is not allowed;
  7. No requests for re-checking, re-evaluation, reassessment or scrutiny of OMR answer sheet will be entertained;
  8. For those who are unable to appear in the test on the scheduled date for any reason, retest will not be held by the University under any circumstances. No refund of fee is permissible;

The price of this Admission Brochure-IV along with Application Form is 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) and it will be on sale from 20th January, 2012 on all working days during normal Banking hours through the branches of Indian Bank.

Fees and Other Charges - Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital:
The allotment of subsidized and non-subsidized seats will be made strictly on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the CET: MBBS-2012. The criteria of eligibility and all other conditions will be the same for, both, subsidized and nonsubsidized seats. The details of fees and other charges are as under:

*The College is further allowed to charge 1,000 per student per annum as Students' Activity Fee and5,000 per student (one time payment-Refundable) as Security Deposit over and above the total fee payable, between 1st September and 7th September, 2012.
Important Notes:
  1. All the students who are admitted shall be required to pay the full fee at the time of Counselling/Admission. The fee shall be payable in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, payable at Delhi. It is clarified that the fee will not be accepted in the form of cash/cheque. Further, no request for deposition of part payment of the fee shall be entertained, under any circumstances. The admission slip will only be issued after the deposition of full fee as per the category (Subsidized/Non-Subsidized) under which the admission has been granted.
  2. If any candidate fails to deposit the full fee, the seat will be offered to next candidate in the order of merit and for this the candidate himself/herself shall be solely responsible. If the candidate is not sure about the category (Subsidized/Non- Subsidized) in which he/she is likely to get admission, then he/she may bring two demand drafts: one for27,500/- and another for
    85,000/-.
  3. During the 4 years course of MBBS (total 9 semesters) fee will be chargeable on annual basis, i.e. for 2 semesters each. However, for 9th semester, 50% of the annual fee shall be charged.
