amshedpur : It’s once again job bounty for Adityapur NITians, several of them have impressed top-notch firms. The class of 2015 has 600-plus students studying in various disciplines of BTech and MTech, besides MCA. About 431 students have received attracted offers.
The job season for final-year students had kicked off on a buoyant note in July-end. IBM took off 47 students — 12 from BTech electrical, nine from metallurgy, five each from computer science and electronics, four each from civil and mechanical and two from production, besides one from MTech and five from MCA. The company has offered an annual package of Rs 3.15 lakh to BTech students and Rs 3.47 lakh to the M.Tech student. Last year, IBM had recruited 34 students from the tech cradle.

Automobile major Tata Motors has locked 13 candidates. Five students are from metallurgy and four each are from mechanical and production. The per annum pay is Rs 6.16 lakh. Last year, Tata Motors, which was then grappling with market slump, had recruited only six students.
The week that went by also saw headhunters like Reliance Jio. The telecom company hired 10 students — nine from electronics and one from computer science — for an annual salary of Rs 5 lakh each, including perks and other emoluments. Sapient Nitro handpicked seven (three each from computer science and electronics, one from electrical) offering each Rs 4.5 lakh per annum. IT major Wipro recruited six (five from electrical and one from electronics) offering each Rs 3.3 lakh per annum.
Officials of the training and placement cell of the tech cradle informed that so far around 80 companies have participated in the campus recruitment process. Some of the other companies which recruited students
NIT training and placement professor in-charge Rajiv Bhushan noted that most of our students have been placed till now. CBSE notifies more course content for physics board exam

NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday notified supplementary material on additional sub-topics included in the Class XII physics theory syllabus for March 2015 examination.

Though the material was notified as part of the CBSE syllabus, many students were unaware as it was not there in the prescribed National Council for Educational Research and Training textbooks. With most schools having completed the syllabus, students first thought that new topics have been introduced. CBSE clarified that since many schools and students didn't have the access to the content, which was notified in June 2014, the board has decided to upload it online.

The additional sub-topics will be part of the forthcoming board exams for Class XII science students in the chapter on communication systems. The topics include internet, mobile telephony and global positioning system.

"These are already part of the syllabus announced earlier. But we realized that these sub-topics are not there in the prescribed NCERT books. Though we had issued the content, many schools asked us again. We found out that these schools didn't get it. So we decided to upload them in the public domain so students and teachers know what to study," said Vineet Joshi, chairman, CBSE.

Online Verus offline :JEE Main 2015

Expert Column by Mr. Aakash Chaudhry:

Aakash-Chowdhry-Expert-CommentStudents today are very career oriented right from their scholastic years. Their anxiety to excel gets more intense when it is a competitive exam that could determine their future career path. One of the most difficult engineering entrance exams is JEE Main 2015 for which the students appear after intense preparation of two or more years in a highly competitive environment.

Examination authorities have introduced a lot of reforms in the past few years like introduction of the online mode of examination in addition to the traditional mode and standardization of examination to a two-tier structure (JEE Main & JEE Advanced) for the admissions. It has changed the way students approach exams today.

About JEE Main Online Exam Mode

After the online mode was introduced for AIEEE, in a few metro cities, the responses received from the students were mixed. This decision initially was not accepted very positively because of fear of the unknown and familiarity with pen & paper mode of examination only. But now, the scenario is changing. The number of students appearing for online exams has increased considerably and is expected to grow further.

Students opting for online exams need to sign in on an assessment program or web link by entering their username and password. Then they choose the course that will be tested and can start answering the questions that are shown on the screen. After they have finished the examination, the students taking the exam need to click on a certain button, like SUBMIT, that would mark the completion of examination process.

10 Reasons for opting JEE Main 2015 Online Exam Mode

Following are the 10 reasons why JEE Main 2015 aspirants shall choose JEE Main 2015 online mode.

Reason 1:When you are attempting JEE Main 2015 Online Exam, you can see on the screen the Questions Answered, Questions Unanswered and Questions Marked for review. These are in different colour schemes so that you can work quickly as it doesn’t require searching for the unanswered questions or questions for review by turning pages and looking for each question.

Reason 2: The fees for the online exams are lower than the offline mode.

Reason 3: As the exam is based on computer system, sudden technical snags are considered and buffers are available. The computers record the lost time, which is duly compensated.

Reason 4: It is a time-saving process and takes a simple click to answer questions.

Reason 5: Rough sheets are also available separately for rough work.

Reason 6: The authorities are making amendments to drive a greater number of students to switch to online mode, which makes the exam more transparent and helps cut down on time & money required to conduct the examination.

Reason 7: There is a fixed duration for the instruction page to be displayed and this does not form a part of the examination time.

Reason 8: There is no question booklet provided but it is e-mailed to the student at the end of the exam.

Reason 9: JEE Main 2015 Application Form has to be filled and submitted online. There is no provision to submit this in offline mode to a centre. This step would inculcate the use of internet in students in smaller towns and rural areas.

Reason 10: Online mode of exam has environmental benefits such as reduced usage of paper.

Taking online mock tests before going for the final exam is necessary as it will help the students to become familiar with the online system and will give a practical idea of  dos and don’ts. Also, it will ensure better preparation.
